Charles West

Charles West is the President of Evan James Consulting. Charles leads engagements to help the social sector create equitable outcomes. Prior to Evan James, Charles led a team in the New Orleans mayor’s office that developed and implemented cross-sector strategies to address the adverse conditions disproportionately affecting communities of color; working to improve public safety by reducing the murder rate, increase economic opportunity for disadvantaged job-seekers, and reduce mass incarceration. 

Charles also served as Director of the Office of Criminal Justice Coordination and Chair of the Criminal Justice Council, advising the Mayor and City Council on criminal/juvenile justice policy matters. Previously, Charles worked as a business analysis and technology consultant on projects in the public and private sectors.

Charles holds a BS in Computer Science and an MBA from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Gabrielle Gunn

Gabrielle Gunn is a Sr. Consultant with Evan James Consulting and has over 15 years of experience in project management, organizational leadership, and business development for small-businesses, schools, and non-profit organizations. Prior to joining Evan James as a consultant, Gabrielle served as a lead teacher in Houston Independent Schools and the founding principal of an innovative charter school, in which she implemented outreach strategies to increase enrollment and hired and trained staff to apply best practices within all instruction.

Committed to improving outcomes for underserved children, families, and communities, Gabrielle has served as a consultant to the Mayor’s Office of Educational Initiatives for the City of Houston where she developed a collective impact strategy for local stakeholders to increase student application rates for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Currently, Gabrielle supports a diverse set of clients by delivering thorough financial analyses and integrated solutions to complex business challenges.

Gabrielle holds a BA in political science and economics from Emory University, an MA in Educational Administration and Public Policy from The Ohio State University, and an MBA in entrepreneurship and management consulting from Rice University’s Graduate School of Business.

Evan James Consulting Gabrielle Burns

Harry Schnur

Harry Schnur is a Sr. Consultant with Evan James Consulting and has over 12 years’ experience working with nonprofit organizations, community institutions, and for-profit social ventures. Prior to joining Evan James, Harry consulted with a diverse portfolio of clients, supporting new organizations like Turning Tables to raise funds for their work to grow diversity and inclusion in craft bartending, and established institutions like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to grow the sustainability of organizations that promote high-wage career pathways for low-income youth and youth of color.

Harry is experienced in program design, financial sustainability planning, fundraising implementation, and leadership. Some of the highlights of his career include co-managing the successful city council campaign of Hong Net, who became the first Cambodian-American elected official in Lynn, MA, and leading fund development for Liberty’s Kitchen, a nonprofit social enterprise in New Orleans, LA. 

Harry holds a BA in Religion and Asian Studies from Bowdoin College and a MEd in Prevention Science and Practice from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Daniella Barton

Daniella Barton is an Associate Consultant with Evan James Consulting. Prior to joining Evan James, Daniella completed an Administrative Fellowship at Ochsner Health with a concentration in Information Services, gaining experience in project management, data analytics, and leadership.

Previously, Daniella has worked in various sectors of healthcare. She served as a business analyst for a private organization, conducting research to give informed recommendations for future financial investments. Daniella also has experience in healthcare consulting and process improvement. 

Daniella holds a BA in Sociology and Master of Health Administration from the University of Miami and has a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

Karli Wells

Karli Wells is an Associate Consultant with Evan James Consulting. Prior to beginning work with Evan James, Karli served as a law clerk for The Honorable Lori Jupiter, Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans, working on family and domestic matters, including providing assistance and support to survivors of domestic violence.

Previously, Karli worked for the Columbia Urban League, providing support for special projects and initiatives relating to foster care youth and education. She also served as a director for several voter registration and mobilization offices. Karli also brings several years of community and campus based organizing experience. 

Karli holds a BA in African American Studies from the University of South Carolina, as well as both a Juris Doctor and an MBA from Tulane University.
